QC Inspector - 1st Shift
Summary/Objective:
Fast-paced and rapidly changing, Northwire designs and manufactures custom, made-to-order products for a diverse range of industries. Successful TEAM members will need to demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, a positive attitude and exact attention to detail. The Quality Inspector shall support quality department activities through direct involvement in product inspection, calibration and documentation management. This role will communicate with assembly, manufacturing and / or engineering personnel regarding product conformance related topics.
Essential Functions:
- Perform assembly and cable/wire physical inspections to assure product conformity to specifications and record data.
- Complete first article inspection reports through direct measurement activities.
- Create certificates of conformance to support product requirements.
- Manage collection of and inspection of production samples and storage activities.
- Assist with filing activities.
- Complete identified cross training with internal resources on personal areas of expertise.
- Practice the 5s+1 methodology in the assigned area and common areas.
- Manage all other duties as identified and required.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
Working within an air-conditioned production/manufacturing environment. Walking surfaces are cement flooring with anti-fatigue mats. PPE required: Steel toe shoes and safety glasses.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time during the shift. Team member must have the ability to use finger to feel, wrists to twist and turn, and work with both hands. Ability to see with 20/20 vision and color vision (can be assisted with glasses or contact lenses). Able to wear PPE as needed: (e.g. safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, standard work gloves, other).
Expected Hours of Work:
40 hours per week with the potential of overtime.
Travel:
Minimal travel is expected for this position.
Relocation:
No relocation is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED.
ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (preferred).
3 years in manufacturing.
