Summary/Objective:

The Senior Assembly Lead is expected to be a working team member whose responsibility is to direct, coordinate and control activities of workers engaged in assembly parts or assemblies into units by performing the following duties:

Essential Functions:

  1. Train, coach, mentor and encourage operator performance to achieve the production target
  2. Maintain structure by addressing issues such as operators not getting back from break on time and other performance issues. Escalate any heightened or major issues to the Assembly Supervisor.
  3. Responsible for material flow and inventory accuracy throughout the Assembly area
  4. Meet all daily production goals
  5. Produce product daily when needed in support of the production line
  6. Perform quality checks throughout the day to ensure conformance to requirements
  7. Reinforce safety and HR policies within the team
  8. Ensure bulk and components are put away and transacted on accurately daily
  9. Shift change – ensure all tools and equipment are in designated areas and the area is clean and organized.  Communicate verbally and via email to incoming lead the status and any critical information to ensure a smooth start up and operation for the following shift
  10. Main point of contact for Assembly Supervisor to obtain status and updates regarding production lines
  11. Maintain equipment and tools throughout the Assembly area
  12. Review and analyze nonconforming product and help develop and implement process improvements and corrective actions
  13. Drive and develop continuous improvement activities
  14. Collaborate with Assembly Supervisor to help write operator reviews as requested

Supervisory Responsibility: 

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.  However, it is an informal leadership position that will require the team member to partner and guide other team members in the Assembly department. The lead can assist with corrective counseling of operators and reviews. 

Work Environment:

This position operates in a high to low volume, high to low mix production environment.  This role routinely uses handheld tools such as crimps and soldering equipment to produce high-end Assemblies. There are chairs available, but some jobs require standing for long periods of time.  

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this position, the TEAM Member is frequently required to talk or actively listen to fellow TEAM Members.  The TEAM Member is frequently required to stand, walk (surfaces are cement), use full hand functions and reach with hands and arms.   The TEAM member must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.

Expected Hours of Work:

Hours of work and days are typically Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm

Travel:

Travel may be expected for this position.

Relocation:

No relocation is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred Education and Experience:

 5-10 years manufacturing or assembly experience

Additional Eligibility Qualifications or Certifications:

IPC 620 Certification or the ability to become IPC 620 Certified

Lean Certification or the ability to become Lean Certified

Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable):
