July 28th, 2016 - July 16 was a triple-header day for the Northwire TEAMas they gathered for their annual family summer picnic while happily observing the 2nd anniversary of their partnership with connector design leader LEMO in providing integrated cable and connector solutions, and also recognizing LEMO’s 70 years.
“Take me out to the ballgame” was the event’s theme and a record turnout was seen as the NWI TEAM took in a triple – a Saint Paul Saints’ baseball game, balmy summer weather, and great food. More than just peanuts, popcorn, and Cracker Jacks were enjoyed as saucy summer barbeque was dished along with celebratory cake.
Characterizing NWI’s T.E.A.M., where Together Everyone Achieves More, raffle tickets were sold with all proceeds benefiting the NWI TEAM Support Fundraiser which helps fellow TEAM members experiencing medical expenses or other difficulties. Over $500 was raised and included a Northwire donation match.
No Curse of the Bambino was experienced as the Saints beat the Fargo-Morehead Redhawks. And speaking of winning teams, since their 2014 partnership, Northwire and LEMO have successfully synergized in providing fully integrated cable and connector solutions ensuring that their customers have all their bases covered. Behind the organization of this trifecta of celebrations was Northwire’s Wellness and Engagement Committee (cheers to Bridget Locke, Krista Lindquist, and Dustin Barott who led the effort!). Still waiting for the pitch is the NWI-New Mexico TEAM picnic that will take place in the cooler temps of October.
The Wellness and Engagement Committee didn’t leave all their efforts on the field, however. The committee’s Engagement Activities have included a “Deskercise BINGO Challenge” where TEAM members were encouraged to complete 15 BINGO squares in 5 days that included mini exercises or stretches that could be done at work. The good sports at NWI took part at their workstations as well as within various meetings.
Additionally, the Wellness and Engagement Committee has kicked off the “Chug a Jug” challenge promoting hydration. Participants received a NWI water bottle and are challenged to drink three a day or 72 oz.
The NWI TEAM has been competing in exercise events together including bike races, golf tournaments, 5k races, etc., and plan to continue throughout the rest of the year. NWI- New Mexico and other remote TEAM members have been getting involved and are sharing photos from various events in different parts of the country.
