Summary/Objective: Northwire Inc is seeking a highly organized and motivated team-builder to fill the role of Quality Engineer focused on continuous improvement and ensuring company-wide commitment to quality. The Quality Engineer will work directly with Customers, Suppliers and all the NWI organization to develop and validate processes designed to ensure internal and external customer requirements are met.
1.) Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
2.) Coordinates customer complaint responses and corrective action response.
3.) Work with Process Engineering to identify and implement improvement opportunities and corrective/preventive actions.
4.) Perform internal audits to ensure compliance to ISO and internal standards.
5.) Represent Quality in product development team/projects to assist in developing appropriate verifications, validations and qualifications for both new designs and design changes.
6.) Qualify new tooling, fixturing and equipment.
7.) Work with suppliers and contract manufacturers to insure processes are capable and have sufficient controls in place to meet NWI quality standards.
8.) Lead control plan development.
9.) Lead Material Review Board (MRB) process.
10.) Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements.
11.) Assists in development and updates to NWI Quality Management System documentation.
12.) Leads/participates in complaint investigations and failure analysis of returned products.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have Supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment: The performance of this position often requires exposure to the manufacturing areas, which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and steel toe shoes. The manufacturing environment has adequate lighting, comfortable temperatures and a moderate noise level. This position also operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this position, the TEAM Member is frequently required to talk or listen to fellow TEAM Members. Expected Hours of Work: Hours of work and days are Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm, and may vary based on business needs.
Travel: Travel may be expected for this position.
Relocation: No relocation is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 5 years of quality experience
2. In depth knowledge and experience with ISO 13485 Quality Management Standard 3. Working knowledge of APQP process (Process Flow, PFMEA, PPAP, Gage R&R, etc.) 4. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Preferred Education and Experience:
1.) Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements. (Reach/RoHS, UL/CSA)
2.) Experience with IATF 16949
3.) Wire and cable manufacturing experience
Additional Eligibility Qualifications or Certifications:
1.) ASQ Certification (Quality Auditor and/or Quality Engineer).
