While cable manufacturers frequently promote the benefits of their Low Smoke Halogen free cable products, they often fail to note that although their jackets may be LSZH, the insulation may be olefin based which is not in compliance with comprehensive safety requirements.

In response, Northwire is pleased to announce its comprehensive flame retardant Halogen free cable solution with the increased safety advantages of both LSZH insulation and jacket, combined with precisely controlled electricals.

Our flame retardant Halogen free cable solution with increased dielectric strength, capacitance and impedance delivers advanced electrical performance.  UL/CSA AWM approved, Northwire’s LSZH technical wire and cable offers cold temperature resistance and has superior bend, variable, torsional and rolling flexibility across the temperature range of – 50°C to 80°C.  Custom cable designs available, over-mold and assembly compatible and can be coiled for retractile cord applications. With its kink, abrasion and cut resistant cable features, LSZH’s smaller diameter is well suited for limited installation space and applications where public health and safety are vital, including rolling stock, aerospace, marine shipboard cable, and where additional precaution is necessary to protect people and equipment from toxic and corrosive gas.
