They had been using consumer grade cable assemblies to connect the sensing unit to the car’s electrical system. The unit’s purpose is to disallow a vehicle from starting if the sensing unit detects alcohol. A failed cable results in an ineffective device.
Northwire provided an innovative solution by offering a custom, ruggedized, industrial strength CoilBoss Retractile Cord assembly to replace the consumer grade straight cable assembly.
