Northwire can transfer legends onto cables using ink jet printing technology, direct or offset ink printing and indent marking.

The most versatile technology is ink jet printing. We use Weidenbach 201 series ink jet printers that allows us to mark the cable with white or black ink. The software permits us to:

• Customize most customer logos
• Sequentially mark lengths (either English or metric units) by counting up or down
• Possibility to turn the text 180 degrees every second imprint in combination with mirror print
• Store custom legends on the computer by identification number (unique to a particular customer)

Cables that have an irregular (undulated) surface can be marked using offset ink printing. Once again, we can have the customer logos and most art work engraved on the transfer wheels along with standard regulatory agency markings (UL and CSA).

Customers requiring logos that can not be programmed into the ink jet printers can still have their customized logos and artwork on their cable products by direct ink printing. We have partnered with a company that offers short lead times to etch the wheels to exact specifications. Northwire offers this style of marking in a variety of colors.

The most durable cable marking Northwire offers is indent. Artwork is very limited along with character height and depth.
